The Mist brand is a luxury bottled water brand in Colombia with a focus on quality and timelessness in combination with an abstract and sophisticated style. For a brand dedicated to quality and timelessness, we took the initiative to deeply consider the richness throughout history within the geographic region of the company as we planned the visual direction of the brand.
This brand concept is inspired by “El Dorado,” Colombia’s lost city of gold, which is dated to around 600 CE to 1600 CE, and is the second most famous lost city in the world after “Atlantis.” Ancient artwork and styles used around this time period in Pre-Colombian history included golden sculptures with a unique abstract approach. The name “El Dorado” is especially associated with the coronation ritual held at Lake Guatavita, just north of modern-day Bogota, and nearby the company’s location.
